Preamble

The SM project tech notes.

Java and A.I.: a marriage of convenience?
Structured Matcher is the fruit of this unholy union. Justification will be given for why Java was used in this project. Though passé, we will do it anyway.

User interface with Swing
Bleeding edge technology for a cutting edge application. Trials, tribulations and redemption with the Java Foundation Classes.

Why RMI? Objects collaborating over the net
Like Java, Structured Matcher is also buzzword compliant. Besides, it's another way of getting another assignment out of Anne with SM.

JDBC: talking to relational databases
Communicating with the outside world through the language of SQL. How Structured Matcher integrates with legacy systems.
