CSCI 630 Software Engineering
Group Member Preferences

You must complete this by 4pm on Wednesday August 29.

I will awknowlege your e-mail.  If you do not hear back from me, send your e-mail again and/or call me (898-5709).

If you forget to submit your preferences, there is a very good chance you will be in a poorly selected group.

What you have to do:

Send an email to trhenry@csuchico.edu with the subject "630 group preferences" and a body that EXACTLY follows the following format, where you are student m and there are n students.

last name, first name
your primary e-mail address (the one you read most often)
your primary phone number (optional: use 555-5555 if you don't want to give it to me)
the average number of hours/week you plan to work on the 630 project
your Keirsey temperament
1, <desire to work with student 1>
2, <desire to work with student 2>
...
m, 100
...
n, <desire to work with student n>

Where the desire should be an integer 0-5 defined as follows:

0: really don't want to work with this student
1: rather not work with this student
2: don't care
3: would like to work with this student
4: really want to work with this student
5: really really want to work with this student, just put me in his/her group

Give yourself the score of 100 (even if you don't want to be on your own team).

For example, assuming we have 5 students, and I am student 3,  my preference e-mail will have the form:

Henry, Tyson
trhenry@csuchico.edu
898-5709
12
rational
1,2
2,3
3,100
4,0
5,1

Your answers are strictly confidential.  I will NEVER share them with anyone.
Use "0" ratings cautiously, they have a very significant impact on groupings.

Please send this e-mail in plain text (not html format).  It is time consuming to convert an html e-mail to text so I can use it in my program.

What I do with your answers:

I have a brute force program that searches the preferences of all the students to find groupings that satisfy the largest number of preferences.

I will then use your answers to the survey questions and the groupings generated by my group selection program to assign groups.
