CHECKING ACCOUNT ---------------------------------------------- CSLUG has a checking account through Associated Students financial Services They are located on the second floor of the BMU. Every semester two CSLUG officers need to fill out a signature card for depositing and withdrawing money from this account. The fees for this account are pretty low and it is much nicer than trying to do something similar with a bank as people come and go too frequently. REVENUE SHARING ---------------------------------------------- As long as CSLUG is a recognized club and submits a form to the Associated Students office then we are eligible to recieve revenue sharing. The way CSLUG gets revenue sharing is by club members voting in the Associated Student elections in the Spring Semester. CSLUG gets a few dollars for every student that votes and marks down 'CSLUG' as a club to give money to. CSLUG can easily get $200-$250 this way every year as long as members are reminded to vote in the A.S. elections. Even people that are not involved in CSLUG are more likely to vote and mark down CSLUG if you tell them about it. The way you collect revenue sharing is by spending the money and then having an officer turn in a reciept to the Associated Students Office in the 2nd floor of the BMU, note that this is a different than the financial services window. They cut you a check to reimburse you which you recieve after a week or two. Being Recognized as a Club ---------------------------------------------- Every semester CSLUG officers must submit a form to the Student Activities Office on the 2nd floor of the BMU for CSLUG to remain a recognized club. This form needs Officer information such as name, email, address and phone. It also needs a main contact person, it is a good idea to use the contact email officers@cslug.org for this so that all of the officers recieve contact email. Reserving a Room --------------------------------------------- The "official" correct way to reserve a room is to request a room reservation through the Student Activities Office which is located on the 2nd Floor of the BMU. If you do not have your form turned into them though then they might not want to reserve a room for you. This can be a real pain in the ass if you are trying to get a room to hold elections so that you can turn in your form. In my experience the Student Activities Office is quite worthless and unhelpful. For example, you would not believe what I have gone through to try and get a mailbox for CSLUG and then only to have it taken away a couple of months later for no apparent reason. It is also possible to ask the Computer Science Office to reserve a room for you.
