1) First step - Ask Question

a) What information is going to be extracted?

b) What processes or function are going to be used?

2) Overall Features

a) How many channels and are they simultaneous?

3) Accuracy Required

a) what is available?

b) what needed?

4) Acquisition Speed

a) Low a few per second.

b) Medium 10 - 100 per second.

c) High > 1000 per second.

5) Data storage and data sharing

a) size and weight.

b) Environment factor.

6) System

a) Operating Cost

b) Reliability
