Why Kappa Sigma?- 1. Kappa Sigma is the oldest fraternity in the world, dating back to its founding in Bologna, Italy in 1400. We are also one of the 5 largest fraternities in the world with chapters on more than 260 college campuses in the United States and Canada.
- 2. Kappa Sigma is one of the most respected fraternities at CSUS. We are always competitive in intramural sports, we are well respected socially, and still maintain one of the highest GPA's on campus.
- 3. We have a strong International Headquarters with student programs that have loaned out over $350,000 to undergraduates and graduate students. Kappa Sigma also has the largest scholarship/leadership fund awarding $100,000 annually.
- 4. Most importantly the Kappa Sigma Fraternity has adopted a NO HAZING policy. We treat our pledges with respect. Any physical or mental discomfort will not be tolerated.
- 5. The young men from our chapter have done a lot to give back to the community in which we live. Some of the activeites/organizations we have participated in are:
Salvation Army flood relief in 1997
United Cerebral Palsy
American Heart Association
Mentor programs in local schools
Canned food drive for the homeless
Global Youth Resource Organization
Sacramento Neighborhood Services
- Kappa Sigma's pride themselves on being gentlemen and by doing this we have become the MOST WANTED MEN IN THE COUNTRY. Fraternity life might not be for everyone but you will never understand the full benefits until you RUSH!
