Join us for a wonderful lecture series by Dr. Alan Weston, world renowned marine biologist. Dr. Watson is a specialist in the study of cephalopods, with a unique knowledge of the behavior and biology of the octopus. His 90 minute presentation provides an overview of the most current and cutting edge research on this amazing animal. Highlights of the presentation include;
  • The results of research into the intelligence and memory capacity of the octopus.
  • Studies into the cephalopods extraordinary ability to camouflage itself using a series of pigment cells in the upper layers of its skin.
  • Cycles of predation and hunting techniques used by the octopus.
  • The exceptionally short lifespan of Octopi, some as short as 6 months.
