| | Inspiration
My idea was to show something from nature. I just felt that I would not be comfortable modeling inorganic, harsh objects. Though organic modeling is difficult, I went with it because I decided on modeling bees. Though they are organic, the shapes that make up their bodies can be made from more simple geometry. And I wanted to model something in the air just for kicks.

| | Problems and Solutions
The modeling took the most time but was actually the easiest part. I pretty much just molded balls with magnet and bend to get the shapes. I took some time getting the wing texture the way I wanted it. I just fiddled around with procedural textures and preset bump maps ‘till I found what I wanted. My original idea was to have the scene inside of a hive, but then I realized I had no idea how to model the hive, so I went to the next choice of an out side scene. Originally I wanted to model the Sunflower all my self, but that combined with getting a good texture on it took too much time, and the flower wasn’t as important as the bees, so I made a backdrop and found a perfect image, and just modeled the part that I wanted to really seem 3-D, then made a good bump map and that was it.
