| | Inspiration
I always was interested in the medieval study of alchemy, magic and science. I wanted to convey this in the scene so I took some inspiration for the anime Full Metal Alchemist.

| | Problems and Solutions
I decide to do a room, mainly a lab, since I enjoy working in laboratories. I had the image I wanted to be the focus already drawn, so that wasn’t a problem, but I didn’t know how to get it onto the floor like I wanted. After much discussion with Clarke and looking for tutorials I found that a clip map was exactly what I wanted. I also had a little trouble modeling the glassware, but with help form my chem. Lab and tutorials it became easier.
I had the scene how I wanted it, but as I was lying in bed the day before it was due, I had a sudden idea. I wanted the picture as the focus of the scene to be very prominent, so I repositioned the camera and added a book and piece of chalk to make it look like the alchemist had just finished his work and was looking at it and judging it.
