Theresa Strohbin Desk Scene
 An Artist Desk
Inspiration
  • I wanted to try and create a desk and room that looked true to life. This is pretty much what my room at home looks like.
  • I always look to Pixar to keep me plugging along. I really do have Pixar posters on the wall in my real room.
  • My desk is a place where artwork comes a live so I am glad we were given a chance to create one. Now my desk is artwork.

Problems and Solutions
  • Lack of time
  • Glass – would have been impossible to do on my own. I used a tutorial I found online to help me out.
  • Poster – was kind of hard. After resizing it it ended up working alright.
  • Texture – I realized after a couple of rendering of bad texture just how important they were all. It took a little bit of surfing on the web to find just the right textures.Chair – was very time consuming and it was something that I made up as I went along. I had a drawing of it as my only reference.
  • Lamp – this was something else that took a lot of time. It was hard to figure out how to hollow out the inside of the light.
  • Lighting – this is something that I am yet to master. I probably spent the most amount of time on the light to try to get it just right. It still needs a little work.
Time Frame
  • One thing I learned about was time management. This is something that I need to work on. Being a perfectionist doesn’t help much.
  • As mentioned before, the lighting was one of the things that took me the longest.
  • I took all of the three weeks we had to complete this project…and if I had more time I think I would use all of that too!
