Jameson Marrs Desk Scene
 Desk Scene
Inspiration

My first inspiration for this desk came from my lamp on my real desk at home.  The lamp had a flexible neck, and I had it pointed into the corner creating a large cone of light on the wall corner.  So I centered my idea for this desk around the lamp and cone of light.  In the end, though, the lamp didn't turn out to be the center of the scene.  The inspiration for the glass vase in the scene was simply for the fun of it, and to see how it would turn out.  The inspiration for the pen suspender thing was from my grandparent's house, where they have a little metal stand with a magnet ball at the top that you can hang metal pens from, so I decided to put my pencil there.

Problems and Solutions

I had most of my problems with the lighting and texturing of the glass vase, I eventually got them to work better, by simply tweaking the settings for them over and over, until eventually they looked how I wanted them to.
Time Frame

About 8 hours for the modeling, and about 10 hours for layout, texturing, and rendering.
