Allan Lace Desk Scene
 The Corner Desk
Inspiration

I got this idea from a photo I took of the small corner desk that is in my living room.  While the lighting is different than that of the photograph, the composition is mostly the same.  The desk lamp is of the Sixties era, and the desk itself is attached to both walls, letting if float above the floor.  The original desk does not have the beveled corners or the off-white laminate, and I built this desk with those modifications in mind to mimic what I would change if I could re-build the original.

Problems and Solutions

My biggest problem was trying to model the lamp.  The cover/shade was fairly easy, but trying to get the curvature of the front didn’t come very easily.  After trying several different times to make the lamp before I settled on the finial version seen in the render.
Time Frame

I would estimate about ten hours, including time trying to figure out how to do everything.  Starting from scratch now, I would estimate about two to three hours total building time, including time spent in Layout.
