Michael Crabtree Desk Scene
 Desk of the Evening
Inspiration

This being my first scene in 3D design, I wanted to create a desk that would be extremely simple to create, but yet send the impression that the scene has deeper meaning.  Originally the scene started as just the desk, stool, lamp, and glass in a windowless room.  The desk and chair were meant to look cheap, and old, and the room was going to have old, cracked wallpaper, and poor flooring.  However, after designing the desk and stool in modeler, and playing with the textures, I found that they actually looked well enough to throw off the whole poverty-theme.  So I put a window in the room, with a view of a nice landscape, provided some soothing lighting, and put some nicer furniture and objects into the scene.  The end result is a nice, relaxing scene of a simple desk in a nice office in the evening.

I actually did not use any tutorials on the web or in the book for this assignment.  The only help was of that of the instructors, and that of my classmates when I reached a barrier.
