Name: Australian Science and Education Aquarium Center
 
Location: Cairns, Queensland, Austrialia

The client wants the site to promote visiting the Center (and local tourism), marine science and education, information dispersal, fundraising, volunteerism and membership.

The science and education elements should include the research centers and facilities, scientific and popular articles, teacher and student sections, college internship opportunities, web cameras and seminars.
 
The aquarium itself has exhibits, interactive theater, shows and excursions, as well as restaurants and shopping.

Exhibit Sectors – all exhibits have excellent and exciting viewing galleries as well as immersion tunnels to see all around:

Coral Reef Sector (Immerse yourself in this gigantic living recreation of the Great Barrier Reef is home to over 120 coral species and 100 fish species along with hundred species of sea-urchins, feather snail, sea-cucumbers, stars, worms, sponges and much more.)

Predators Sector (Sharks, rays and skates thrive in huge exhibit – get up close if you dare, and witness the feeding time and dive shows.)

Crocodile Sector (Croc Walk: see and experience the crocs from above and below.)

Reef Sector (See coral reefs, seagrasses, mangroves, sponge gardens and muddy seabeds, and all the life.)

Venomous Sector (Dangerous creatures are part of the Reef’s ecology - see sea snakes, stonefish and lionfish and understand how they are part of the Reef.)

Shore Sector (See and touch the rocky shores and tide pools; see and hear the costal wetlands and the sandy shores; see the life in the mangove forest.)

Water Sector (Observe the sights and sounds of life in the intertidal zone.)

Food Sector (Herbivores, omnivores, corallivores, carnivores, and planktivores for the web of food that is part of the Reef.)

Light Sector (Understand how light is needed to sustain the Reef, and see the vibrant colors of the sea and what the colors mean.)

Dark Sector (The dark side of the sea – meet nocturnal animals and those who live in the shadows of the ocean depths.)

Interactive Sector (Explore and touch in the Interactive Sector.)

Experience Theater (This state-of-the art theater featuring a 15-meter wide, HD screen with immersion sound provides “dry dives” and experiences from all over the Reef.)
