Inspiration

A man stands at the base of a gigantic mountain, preparing for a treacherous climb.  I had previously been working in Lightwave with simple geometric shapes, so for this project, I wanted to create something entirely organic on a large scale.

Problems and Solutions

Problem 1: I was having trouble getting my textures to show up the way I wanted them.
Solution 1: A quick adjustment on the scale of my textures fixed the problem.

Problem 2: I could not get skytracer2 to produce the effect I wanted.
Solution 2: I used a background image for the sky instead.

Problem 3: I noticed a few places where there were jagged lines in all my renders.
Solution 3: After turning on Enhanced Medium Antialiasing, the jaggies disappeared.
