| | Inspiration
Pink Floyd, “Wish You Were Here” My project, for the most part, is a literal representation of a poetic line from the song. In truth, when he says, “We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl…” I think he meant they were two people wandering aimlessly through life. Their accomplishments were few and far between and they never went anywhere but “around”. Being lost in a fish bowl doesn’t leave you with many options for killing time.

| | Problems and Solutions
My first day of work was lost because I was using a discovery edition of Lightwave and couldn’t save anything. The glow effect on the souls didn’t show through the glass, so I added lens flare. Also, when ambient light was turned down to 5% the glow didn’t show up so I set it at 15%. I tried several times to make water but gave up.

| | Time Frame
2 hours on the room and fish bowl that were lost. 1 hour making desk and room. 1 hour on several attempts at a fish tank. 1 hour looking for and setting up pebbles. 2 hours trying to make water. 2 hours setting up fish tank light and cow in Layout for an idea that was eventually scrapped. 2 hours making souls and setting up lighting in Layout for final scene.
