| | Inspiration
I have an art minor and so I have taken my fair share of art studio classes. In these studio classes, still life drawings/paintings etc. make up a good portion of the material covered. This piece of artwork is a portrayal of the studio life and how someone can get so caught up in their art that they can forget about their “bodily functions” making the moment captured in my piece a story true to the art world.

| | Problems and Solutions
The majority of my problems came from just not knowing the program well enough. Hotkeys were of major importance; most of all “f” to change an object to it’s opposite polygons, “q” to name a surface area and “n” to manually manipulate an object. Other functions I found very useful were rail extrude for creating the curvature of the lamp arm. Remembering key details such as turning on the different render functions are key to success. I had an hour-long render only to find I didn’t have the image displayed afterwards; I needed to turn that function on.

| | Time Frame
For me the modeling of the different objects took the longest. Finding textures and placement of the objects came relatively easily, however creating the objects and getting the size right took me he majority my time. I spent around 5-6 hours creating the objects, an hour or more on surface textures, 2 hours on object placement, an hour on lighting and roughly 2 hours on camera placement and rendering.

| | References
Other than the websites listed above for textures, I didn’t have many references other than coming to class and asking questions. There was a tutorial on the class homepage on clipping masks that was useful, however my background had so little texture that it wasn’t necessary to do a clipping mask.
