| | You need to create a look and feel for the home page of your portfolio. This home page is the gateway to the rest of your portfolio and your art. The home page must be attractive and reflect your talent and abilities. Just as with the first five seconds of a demo reel, if the home page does not entice the viewer to delve further into your site, the view (potiential employer) will move on to another site. Spend time thinking, drawing, creating.
Consider your target audience and your artwork when developing your look and feel for your portfolio. Keep in mind too that your portfolio page is a piece of art as well - the first view a potential employer has of you and your talents. You will need to update your portfolio from time-to-time, so think about maintenance as you develop it as well.
Most importantly, your portfolio must reflect you, your career goals and be attractive to your target audience. 'Edgy' can be good and can be bad; boring is bad. Use your art in this home page or make it your art.
For this assignment, you are not creating the portfolio web site, you are creating a image of what it is to look like, thus use Photoshop or Indesign, etc and create a mock-up of the home page. You will use this image in your presentation of your look and feel. Be ready to explain why you made your choices in view of your stated target audience.
