Recreate a scene from Nightmare Before Christmas
Inspiration

With all the group members being a fan of this movie we sought out in an effort to recreate a scene with the tools that we have learned. One of the most memorable scenes in the movie was the scene with Jack and Zero wandering through the graveyard and ascending to the top of the hill. This scene is used in a number of posters and images promoting the movie. WE also implemented the KeyBlade which was used in the game Kingdom Hearts. This blade was designed with Jack in mind to be its wielder.

Post Production

Depth of field added to main render using Photoshop. Added contrast and sharpening using Photoshop.

For Keyblade scene added depth of field and shadows of Jack and Sora were added.

Problems and Solutions

Problems with the textures not being tileable, Pablo took on the task of accomplishing the seamless texture look for the hill and tombstones. Another problem was the making of the horse figure on the column. This was a very tedious task and Ian was forced to try another way of modeling called point modeling. He used points and with that created his own polygons using pre-made shapes for the body. For the Keyblade Sword Ramon had some trouble with achieving an actual blade look to the sword’s edge. He had to select the polygons around the edges and then divide those then grab the individual points and raise them creating the blade.
