Inspiration

The story of our work is childhood and the way you always feel like a kid when you are at a playground. We focused on what a kid’s perspective of our playground might be so a lot of our shots are from the perspective of a young student who just got released to the playground for recess.

Problems and Solutions

Some problems we faced were first just thinking of what we wanted in our scene and exactly what kind of look we were going for. After getting the initial idea out of the way the next problem we faced was modeling all of the playground equipment that we wanted in our scene. Most of the problems that rose from going into model our structures were just the lack of experience with modeler. It took some familiarizing with light wave and learning of different techniques before we were really able to start making some progress. Tutorials helped teach us how to do certain things and achieve what we wanted in our objects. One very prominent problem was texturing. It was difficult not only finding the right texture for the object we were texturing but also applying it in such away that it did not distort the look but rather made it appear even better. Many texturing problems were solved with diligence and time; it was a game of guess and check until we were able to obtain the look we felt was just right.
