| | Inspiration The inspiration for my project is the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedachniskirche, or memorial church, in Berlin. The Church was bombed by the RAF during World War II, leaving only the main spire standing. After the war, it was decided to leave the church unrestored, as a war memorial for those killed by the bombings.

| | Problems and Solutions
My biggest problem on this project was underestimating the amount of time it would take to model everything. The church is a very intricate building, and I had a hard time with the carvings and windows on the spire. I ended up cutting them out to give myself a complete project to turn in. Another problem I had was lighting the renders well. There always seemed to be some nooks and crannies in the model that didn’t get any light. I ended up adding a lot of lights to the scene to illuminate everything, but it made render time go through the roof, so there wasn’t a great solution to that problem. I also lost 2 renders and a model when my flash drive corrupted the files before I could back them up.
