Inspiration
 
I got my inspiration from, of course, the game Mario 64. In the middle of working on this project I played the new Paper Mario for the Wii, which inspired me to combined both Mario 64 and Super Mario Bros. This scene takes place in the middle of my version of the Mario World, right after defeating the first level and right before he receives the star.

Problems and Solutions

The object I had the biggest problem with was the star. I played around a lot with it, and made many different versions. Eventually I just ended up using the array tool around a five sided disc. I had problems with Skytracer 2 as well; the clouds would never appear even though I followed many different tutorials step by step. I tried again a little later on during the project and got it to work but then decided I really didn’t like the look it made. So I just went with a plan blue sky.
