Alex Prator Desk Scene

Alex's Gaming Rig in its Natural Habitat
Inspiration

My desk scene, titled “Alex’s Gaming Rig in its Natural Habitat”, is a scene based largely on my own room in terms of color and layout.  The scene admittedly doesn’t tell much of a story.  This is in part because the scene I originally envisioned was much more complex, with gremlins emerging from the monitor and carrying away the objects on the desk.  Untimely sickness and serious underestimating of how long each piece would take led to this much simpler scene.

Problems and Solutions

My biggest problem by far was time.  I lost a lot of time I had put aside for this project, and when I was able to work on it everything took much longer to create than I thought it would.  My solution was to cut out most of the little fiddly things that would have taken up more time and effort than they were worth and instead focus on meeting the requirements and making the textures and lighting look as good as I could get them.
