| | Inspiration
I recently had purchased the DVD set of Indiana Jones which I had not watched in years. After watching the series, I remembered how great the movies were and thought it would be clever to attempt a 3-Dimensional environment similar to the Indiana Jones environment.

| | Problems and Solutions
Lighting: There was a problem of keeping the rest of the room lit since the lamp wasn’t the only source of light in this scene. Given the scene appeared to be underground I thought using a spotlight above the room to fill in the rest of the light would be natural. Creation: The creation of the objects was tricky as sizing was difficult to match up with the correct measurements. I mainly made the table the most realistic size in the room and set everything else around it by eye and some light measurements. The basic idea was to keep everything realistic by appearance, after all, you could have this room be huge and still look proportional. I resized, dragged, stretched, and double-backed on measuring from time to time and eventually came out with the correct shape and dimensions of the objects needed for the room.

| | Time Frame
Starting ideas – 1 hour I pretty much brainstormed and drew out my ideas after watching the Indiana Jones movie. Modeling – 1 Day worth I did a lot of work with sizing and getting the measurements to match up perfectly. Layout – 2 Days worth I pretty much created every object that I wanted and put them into the room. I began with the objects floating in the air and arranged them in the most appealing and storytelling way that I could. I moved the desk several times over to find the best angle and lighting option.
Texturing – 6 hours It was difficult to get used to making the look of the object seem realistic only to later discover that you could upload other textures from the internet. By then it was too late as I had created my own textures, but I did manage to substitute a couple textures for the sake of a more realistic appearance. Lighting – 3 Days worth I also worked with lighting at the same time with the Layout to produce the most realistic look that I could. I think I came out more successful with all the trial and error movements I had made. Eventually I came to using a spotlight and a bulb source as the only two lights in the room. Avg. Total Time: 150 Hours
