 The Chief's Desk
Inspiration

The Chief''s Desk is a representation of the kind of office a high-level official might have. The state-of-the-art laptop is linked to the building's T3 connection for ultra-fast data transfer and real-time teleconferencing. The multiple flat-panel screens on the wall allow for multitasking to the extreme (via multiple ATI Radeon graphics cards) and hidden speakers in the monitors allow for 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. The poster with the Eagle, Anchor, and Globe is to symbolize that the Chief is a retired member of some branch of the military and is at his second career in the corporate world.

This scene drew inspiration mainly from the movie Swordfish, because in the plot, one of the computer crackers is called write source code for a worm to be used to withdraw money from various bank accounts. The computer set up included about 6 flat panel monitors and multiple laptops with ultra high-speed internet connections.

Problems and Solutions

The only real problem I had with this assignment was trying to get the lighting settings to work. Initially, the light settings I had turned on made the room too bright and the objects were overpowered by the light. I fixed this by using a softer light setting and angling the light slightly downward.
