 Bad Dream or Abduction?
Inspiration

In The scene I created I wanted to give a feeling that you don’t know exactly where you are. As the title states is it a bad dream or were you abducted. Green is my favorite color so that is why I chose that. I decided to give my room a bit of an out of this world feeling since space is something that I find fascinating. I like the lighting in my room because there are a variety of shadows. Also it seems like a little bit of a mysterious scene because the chair is on the floor instead of it normal up right position along with the dim lighting. I decided to go with that kind of feeling for my room. The image I chose for the background window fit really well with the composition. And I choose the street fighter picture since it is my favorite videogame just to tie it to myself more.

Problems and Solutions

This project was a lot of fun. I wish I had a lot more free time so I could devote event more time to my projects. The only difficulty I had was learning how the program works. I already have an understanding of working in 3D but I have never used light wave before. I was able to figure things out for the most part and had little questions here and there. One thing I didn’t understand was when I was trying to Boolean out multiple sections of a box and it wasn’t working. I found out thanks to the instructors help that I needed to subdivide before it would work. Also using the w key to select certain shapes was very useful when I had a lot of shapes in one layer. Thank again to the instructors advice.

Time Frame

I spent a total of 15+ hours on this project. I created all objects for my scene and used the textures provided by lightwave and only used two outside images as I referenced. The objects weren’t too hard to create since they were mostly non organic except for my creature. Also I spent a good amount of time trying to get the lighting to look good to me. A lot of my time was also taken up trouble shooting small problems I faced. I wish I had more time but with 19 units this semester I find my schedule very limiting. I look forward to learning more about lightwave since I never used it before this semester.
