 The Ruins
Inspiration

We both love Lord of the Rings. We thought it would be awesome to try to recreate a set or landscape from one of the movies. We chose to make an eroding lost temple with a nice mountain range to really set the feel for a medieval time.

Wade also chose to make the ruined temple, partly because of his knowledge of Art History. He’s always been interested in architecture, and thought it would be to our advantage to throw in an authentic looking temple.

Problems and Solutions

We both found that his project was fairly challenging and that we both enjoyed working on it together. We had both worked separately on each of our pieces that we created, but we found that the hard part was just putting both of our projects together so they could render. After several hours of not being able to properly adjust the settings needed for the final render, we both decided to find another way to finish our project. We rendered each of our pieces separately and merged both images together using Photoshop layering techniques.
