| | Inspiration
As most projects go, this one seemed to spawn into a creation that I could not control. It all began with a small desk and it branched from there. I thought that I had the idea to create this project and would have no problem with it, but of course, this was a grossly misjudged. After beginning to create my project, everytime I got content with the work I had just done, there would become another 10 or so other things that I would want to change and/or create anew. It was only until I finally completed my project that I decided it would be more lively if I added a sense of audience involvement in the scene by adding the back shadows of the doorway and finally the insertion of the shadowed warrior in the shadows. I thought that the simplicity of the calming view of the suttle wood with the serene enviroment of the contents of the window would just be the smaller layer to the final center of the piece, which would be the inturruption of the man in the shadows with the sword. The placing of the shadow was meant to become the now involved viewer, in such that the viewer is a part of the scene. All in all, I am very pleased with my creation due to it being my first creation in a 3-D enviroment program.

| | Problems and Solutions
The biggest problem that I found while creating this project wasn't the creation of the object, but the final layout and setting of the scenes. Below I will list my serious problem areas, but in general the only part which was frustrating, and I mean frustrating, would have to be the final layout and setting of the lights, camera angle, and the placing of my objects. However, the solution to all of this was just biting the bullet and getting it done. A big key to getting the work done without worrying about how long it takes it to change your enviromental distractions, such as turning on/off music or the television. Lighting: The toughest part of the lighting would have to be the changing of light darkness. During my creation of this, the day changed from day to night and thusly so did the outside lighting, which if you know, effects how the image on your monitor also looks, so from morning to night, I was always trying to keep everything visible. That is another problem, was trying to get the lighting on all of the objects I wanted to show better, including the lower left leg of the table. Creation: Creating the objects was definitly a difficult task at the beginning of my design due to my lack of knowledge with lightwave. After reading multiple tutorals and online help along with the help of Professor Steinback, I finally got the hang of the program. The main change was the eventual learning of the hot keys, after this, movements and placing jumped to a much easier pace. Layout: My serious problem with the layout would have to be my touch of everything having to be how I wanted it when I wanted it. It finally came down to the point that after every single little change, no matter how small, I would have to save the scene and the objects. Afer all this was completed, I think I have about 30-40 copies of my objects, and around 50 different saved scene files.

| | Planning 2 Hours The time spent thinking on what to do initially wasn't much time at all, but during the long creation of this project is when the time thinking and drawing in my secluded and alone in my room was spent. Modeling 9 Hours The creation of the objects at first was very slow due to my little amount of knowledge on Lightwave, especially since here at home I have Lightwave 8, versus the 7.5 in lab. It all became easier however once I got use to the program and hot keys, which really make modeling go much quicker. Layout 18-20 Hours This is probably the most time extensive product, it took many moons of being locked inside cut-off from the rest of humanity in order to get everything where I wanted it. It seemed everytime I wanted to change something, I would turn into a hair-raising insanity which would spiral into the working of every other object in the scene. Lighting 7 Hours Adding the lighting wasn't so tough until I wanted to complete the scene. I had the most trouble in lighting with getting the shadows set up for the doorway and the human shadow. However, worth every minute. General 3 Hours For this, such as powernapping and trying to recalm myself after two loss of works, and four serious errors which led to crashes, This would be time spent blank and not with a thought in my head just staring at my blury and crosseyed monitor wondering what the hell just happened. Avg. Total Time: 41 Hours That's right, I don't know how much time the rest of you spent, but this was definitly one of the most time consuming, but most rewarding projects I have created in a long time.
