TaskTop of Page

On Monday or Wednesday the 23 or 25 October 2006 in lecture, your group must present your a technical report to your web design colleagues (not the client).

You will have eight (8) minute for your presentation.  Presentations less than six (6) minutes are unacceptable; you should plan for seven (7) to eight (8) minutes.

Each member of the group must participate (talk) substantially in the presentation.  Make sure you introduce your group and each member of your team.

Your presentation will be evaluated on your introduction, organization, focus on the target audience, effective use of visuals, your conclusion, and an overall effectiveness of the presentation.  Remember that a conclusion is not the cessation of talk nor is it saying your are done talking.  A conclusion is the summary of your presentation.  See A Research Guide for Students by I. Lee for presentation suggestions.

As we discussed in lecture, this technical presentation is to your fellow web designers.  The topics you need to cover are deal with your company’s current client and how you are, as master web designers, developing the site for your client.  Required elements are:

Site map

Prototype of at least the home page showing the look and feel of the site

Technology and tools used for:
  • Developing the project
  • Deploying and maintaining the site
Phases of development including what components of the site are in each phase and estimated time to complete each phase.

In the current phase of development:
  • What elements have been completed, how much time it has taken to complete and who did the work.
  • What elements are yet to be completed, who on your team is working on those elements and how much time do you estimate it will take to complete the element.
How your team is working together – division of tasks, communications, etc.
