Types of Players
2006 Fall ->Video Game Design ->Assignments ->Types of Players

Competitor : plays to be best regardless of game
Explorer : curious about world, wants to go adventuring.  Seeks outside boundaries – physical or mental.
Collector : acquire items, trophies, knowledge, create sets, organize history, etc.
Achiever : plays for varying levels of achievement.  Levels are often incentives.
Joker : plays for fun – not take game seriously.  Usually social not competitive
Artist : driven by creativity, creation, design
Director : love to be in charge, direct the play
Storyteller : create and live in worlds of imagination and fantasy
Performer : show off for others
Craftsman : wants to build, craft, engineer or puzzle things out
