| | Problems and Solutions
The biggest problem I encountered was the issue of stray points and polys. This posed a problem because it would mess with the UVs I had laid out and display improperly in render. It also prevented me from using tools such as bandsaw, bandglue, and add edges. I used the statistics window (“w” on the keyboard) and selected all the one point polys and deleted them to take care of the stray points problem. For the polys I had to find the Unify Polys tool which is “|” on the keyboard. This successfully took care of the problem however it could also unify polys that I didn’t want unified and cause texturing problems, so I had to be careful with it. I had originally wanted to rig my Samurai character. I found that this was very time consuming and if I continued trying to successfully rig my character that it would stretch beyond the limits of the deadline and I wouldn’t have a useable character for the scene. To solve this problem I posed the character manually, moving and rotating polys until I got the desired pose. A cheap and dirty trick I know but it worked.
