| | Inspiration
In creating this scene, there were many aspects that I wanted to include. At first, I knew only that I wanted to have a scene that was bright, since up till now I’ve worked on projects that were evening scenes. I also knew that I wanted to do a human. I knew that I would not have the time for a whole human, or even aspects of a human like hair and skin, because both are complex, to say the least. So I thought I could Nefertiti do a statue and still be able to focus on the main part of the human. And I tried to think about a statue I could do and I suddenly knew I had to do Medusa the Gorgon. In the end, I decided to use her head as though it were a piece in a museum, like a bust of Nefertiti. I really liked this idea because I knew it would be something I could build on in the future: adding pieces to my museum. My story of this piece is that somewhere, in Zeus’ kingdom in the sky, there is a Museum of the Gods. In this Museum is the head of Medusa, which Perseus has brought back as an exhibit. In my imagination, a Museum of the Gods would be a very ethereal and bright place and as you’ll see, I think I did a good job bringing that across in my project. So here is my museum, with the key elements: my museum piece, its podium and an ethereal, bright godlike museum in the clouds. I am definitely happy with the result.

| | Problems and Solutions
My first problem was using the extender and weld tools. The extender would add polygons if I didn’t click on the points in the right order. And even then I would end up with mysterious wrinkles on my object. I finally figured out that I was not welding all the points. When I figured that out, I was able to get rid of the wrinkles.
My second problem was learning to work with non-linear polygons. Trying to manipulate them was almost impossible because I couldn’t see where the polygons connected. Unfortunately the only thing that solved this problem was lots of hard work.
My third problem stemmed from the fact that I wanted my museum floor to reflect the sky without looking strange. The problem with this was that it ended up just looking like a flat sky. My solution to this was to section off the floor into strips and then use a simple gradient texture to make the floor look like a floor.
