| | Inspiration
This scene is inspired by my daughter. One of her favorite activities is "drawing", which really just means scribbling on whatever she happens to find. A few weeks ago I came home to find my work desk in shambles while Kayla was peacfully napping away. This occured just a few nights before the desk scene was assigned, so this is the first thing that popped into my mind. I had planned on including more elements in the scene, but due to the time constraints I was forced to cut some objects.

| | Problems and Solutions
Lighting, lighting lighting. For some reason the point ceiling light I wanted to use (behind the camera positon) was causing a wierd blocky-ness issue with my window glass. I tried to fix this with spotlights, distant lights, linear lights, and lights outside the window. I tried moving positions on every combination of the afore mentioned lights, but nothing would work. So to compensate I tightened the camera shot to just the desk and chair, so it wouldnt see the window. A second major problem, and where I spent most of my time was trying to "crumple" the paper. Sounds easy right? Its not, and all my results were poor, so the crumpled paper was cut from the scene. Other minor problems I had were mostly just due to getting adjusted to the tools. Post render I wasnt very happy with the blocky-ness of the garbage can. Other than that Im fairly happy with the final product.
