| | Inspiration
In this scene I wanted to create a room with a desk that was similar to my home. I wanted the desk to be slightly cluttered but still organized. I chose the large window because I wanted it to be one of the main focuses of the scene. The desk is also very large compared to the rest of the room. This is because my desk sits in a nook that is attached to my living room and thus is the largest object in that space.

| | Problems and Solutions
The Good: The Bevel tool was my friend for this assignment. It was great for creating some of the detail on the desk and the molding. Most of the objects on the desk I loaded from Lightwave with the exception of the pencil, the lamp, and the vase (two of which are no longer in the scene). This was a nice easy way to ad to the scene without having to create each piece by myself. The Bad: There were a ton of problems! First of all the scene I created is not the one shown here because my files did not save properly and I lost everything. I had more technical problems than I knew what to do with (literally, as in I didn’t know how to fix any of them). I tried to use the book for help (I even pulled the CD-ROM out of the back pocket) but I didn’t find it useful. As a result of this my desk scene is very flat and boring! There is no texture because I lost that, and no secondary light source because I lost that too. My advice would be . . . save everything at least 15 times to 15 different sources.
