My inspiration came from a program on the History Channel about WW2 MIAs. Being lost in enemy territory with little to go on but the will to survive, the ability to locate one’s self, and evading the enemy.

| | Problems and Solutions
For my scene, I wanted a dark and simple atmosphere. Since the objects on top of the desk are individually small, I had to make the rest of the room look drab in comparison. Luckily, this fit into my theme for the project, and I was able to achieve the look I desired by simply using a stone-like surface from Lightwave for the walls. I was originally going to have a rifle laying across the desk, but due to time restraints, I was forced to replace it with something much simpler. I replaced my rifle with the dagger model from Lightwave’s directory. I wanted my scene to be simple, so I decided to create a practical wall-attached desk. This freed up some time to get the lighting and organization right in the layout. I applied some wood textures to the desk and floor, and created a map from a picture I found on the History Channel’s website. In order to get the lighting effect that I wanted, I created a wall-mounted light fixture that cast light down onto the desk and through a small hole at the top of the lampshade.
