| | Inspiration
The inspiration for my scene was my vision of the perfect desk. I wanted something bright and big. My desk is just that, red and oversized. It has enough surface area to layout all my papers and books. I wanted to use bright colors in the scene so I added bright art work and bright lamps. I am a huge fan of abstract paintings so I hung Kandinsky’s, Farbstudie. To add a touch of strange to my scene I hung another painting by M.C. Escher called Skull with Cigarette. I added a game of logic to enhance the mind and then added a jack-o-lantern because of Halloween and to show an artistic side. The walls and carpet are in calm colors to make the bright colors stand out.

| | Problems and Solutions
The main problem I had was not being familiar with the program. I have never done any 3-D modeling. When I started the desk I was overwhelmed with all the things that this program is capable of. I guess you can say it was information overload for me. So the solution that I came up with was to purchase the book Essential Lightwave 3-D. After reading certain parts I was more comfortable with the program. Another problem of mine was making things fit to scale. After I would create objects in Modeler and load them to lightwave I was unable to see them. This happen to the pencil and I finally zoomed out and realized that the pencil was gargantuan. The last problem I encountered was rendering. I forgot to set render display so I had to render it all over again.
