Raul Damian Desk Scene
 Lonely Room
Inspiration

As I went over several ideas that I had about what I wanted my scene to look like, I figure that the simplest thing to do was to try and recreate part of my room.  I used my room as my inspiration because I tough it would be interesting to see how a model of my room would come out.  My desk has a unique look to it, so I figured that it would be great for the scene that I was to work with.  I decided that my story was to represent an empty space, since I am almost never home.  I taught that I would only have the required items in my scene and nothing else that would make it a busy room.  A computer would have been nice, if I downloaded it into my scene, but I wanted to keep it simple.  The spill on the desk was meant to signify the mess that has not been cleaned in a while.

Problems and Solutions

When I got started with the project I did not run into many problems.  The problems that I did have were minor and I was able to figure them out on my own.  At first I had several problems using the lathe tool, but as I kept trying I got better at it.  I was also having some problems with the Boolean tool, but that was something simple that I was able to figure out.  As I progressed in my project I ran into some bigger problems.  I was not sure exactly how to apply the textures to my objects, but I managed to get some help from some of my colleagues in class.  Another big problem that I ran into was trying to change the settings on my lights.  I was lucky enough to have someone glance at my scene and suggested for me to change the light intensity.  I should have gone through some of the tutorials to try and figure out the problems that I ran into, but I could not find the time to do so.  I still think that this was a good learning experience and I could only hope to improve from here.
