| | Inspiration
The inspiration from this scene came from the fact that I love to play pool with my friends. Therefore, I had to include a pool table which proudly sits in the center of my imaginary game room. The feeling that I am trying to portray in my scene is one of closure. The pool game has just been played (and I took everyone’s money) and the lights have been dimmed after everyone has left. The remnants of the game are still visible; the beer mug has been left on the desk and the pool sticks, cue-ball, and rack are still on the table.

| | Problems and Solutions
The biggest problem that I had creating this scene was the lack of time I had to spend on the project. To make up for this loss of time, I used many objects from LightWave which fit the theme of my scene. Luckily for me, LightWave contains many fun objects that made my game room come alive. A secondary problem that I had was creating a lighting scheme that did not cancel individual lights out. In order to correct this problem, I had to ensure that each light (especially the track lights) was positioned at a different angle so that the round spotlights were each well defined as separate sources of illumination. Finally, I found it difficult to illuminate the fan’s light without completely white-washing the scene with light. In order to fix this problem, I lowered the fan’s light intensity to a level that was lower than the spot lights contained on the track lights. This solved the problem and still gave the effect of light being emitted from the fan.
