Before I began on this project, I hate two ideas I wanted to turn into 3D. One was a scene from Cowboy Bebop featuring Spikes spaceship, and the other the MayShip from Guilty Gear X. Being both a video game and at times, an anime nut, I had a hard time chosing. Searching the web for references on models, I found quite a lot of art which featured Spike’s spaceship, and only about 3 art pieces featuring the Mayship. In the end, I chose to do Cowboy Bebop over Guilty Gear X.

Process
I accidentally put most of my work into the spaceship itself instead of worrying about the surrounding scenery. Instead of working with plugins or tutorials, I did everything by hand and basic tools. For the amount of work I put it, I’m satisfied to a degree. Obstacles
I’ve had a lot of trouble with this project, due to the fact that I’m too stubborn to ask for help or view tutorials. It’s my goal right now to learn what I can do with the simplest of tools before read a tutorial that I may not understand or waste someone else’s time asking for help. Doing all objects by hand can be quite time consuming and would possible take more polygons that I would’ve liked, but at least if I make a mistake, I know where the source is and am usually able correct it. Helping pieces
The Knife tool is possibly the best tool I could find. If there was an object I wanted to break up and stretch out, then I’d use the knife tool to separate it. That’s the only real recommendation I have
