| | Inspiration
When I was little I used to go up to Humboldt and stay with my grandma for a week or so right off the Eel River. Collecting river rocks and picking blackberries on the way was a routine each afternoon, a memory which I hold dear. This last summer she had passed away and I solely re-painted the whole house, taking breaks to go down to the river and reminisce of years past. As I tried to incorporate water into my scene I thought back to the Eel River with it's varying rocks, the crisp water and the abundance of memories had there and it quickly became the focus of my story. My scene encompasses not only the physical attributes of the Eel River, but also the solitude and silence of the memories had there this past summer, a clearer memory of memories long past.

| | Problems and Solutions
I found that making a mountain with appropriate texture/ color was somewhat difficult. I tried many of the techniques found searching through tutorials and finally settled on one that works well enough for me to leave it be.
To make the rocks realistic I had to individually make them and strategically place them to give an accurate model of how the rocks are all individual and have stories within themselves. Placement and creation of these multiple rocks was not necessarily difficult, but rather time consuming.
