I’ve always wanted to try for a photorealistic scene, which is why I chose this. I researched all the things that go into a real photo. Dust, particles, depth of field, lighting, camera apertures, textures, radiosity, anything I could to make it as realistic as possible. It ended up being a really nice render. Although it may not have achieved photorealism, I believe I at least made a nice art piece.

| | Problems and Solutions
Most of this piece was simply trial and error. The volumetric lighting was done by changing the settings over and over until I achieved a satisfactory look. There is also a hypervoxel particle emitter emitting a few dust particles to add to the realism. The dirt textures were worked on a lot too enhance the realism. My only real problems with the scene were because of long renders that made it harder to observe changes to the scene.
