| | Inspiration
The first word I got when I asked Jon (member of my team for group scene) for a subject was “Music”. From there I agreed to base my final scene on the theme of the music and explored the possibilities. Music takes place in everywhere in our lives: radio, CDs, on the street, in restaurant and in schools, but I think the place where music really comes alive is on a stage. I created a stage, added a crowd and music instruments to set the mood. Then I realized how light on a stage also plays an important role in the mood setting. Since I couldn’t add music to my renderings, I decided to create the ambiance of my scene with lighting.

| | Problems and Solutions
Creating the oval and round light racks appeared at first to be a chore of placing bars in every direction. Then I discovered the tool “bend”. I created my rack in a straight line by using an array of a single segment, and then bended the whole rack to make it round. When I first added all the lights to the scene, my renders were a huge white blur. That was the result of too many overlapped volumetric bright lights. I had to tweak the lights settings and bring down the luminosity of each one to create the right ambiance for the whole scene.
