| | Inspiration
I wanted to model my room after a traditional Japanese house. Japanese traditional houses are simple yet elegantly design. I looked at many pictures from mark Hemmings web site and found all the pictures of everything I needed except for a desk. From those pictures I designed my room and made up my own desk. This scene makes me think of living in Japan, in a peaceful room just drawing.

| | Problems and Solutions
My biggest problem was time and creating the glass. At first I tried to create my glass from a cylinder. I used the bend, bevel but nothing seemed to work. So then I tried the lathe tool and that worked much better. I also had a lot of trouble with textures. I never really got them to look very realistic. I’ll have to look at more tutorials and play around with it some more. One thing that did work for me was drawing out my models before I started modeling them in lightwave. It made it a lot easier to make the model because I could break the object into little parts making it easier to build and design my model in lightwave.
