Inspiration

I got inspiration for this assignment simply by looking at my light table in my room. I love this table. It's great for doing homework, viewing negatives, and working on anything that requires a great deal of space. With this 3D image I am trying to show the reasons why I like this table; I want the viewer to appreciate the light given off by the table, and it sheer size.

Problems and Solutions

Well, since this was the first time I used Lightwave every thing I wanted to create turned out to be a problem. I learned to create the more simple objects in class, but the complex ones needed outside help. I found tutorials about Lightwave on the Internet and used textures I found in Lightwave, on the Internet, and ones I created myself. One problem that arose once I was done creating my 3D scene was render time. My scene uses area lights and a good amount of glass. The area lights greatly increased the render time to 30 hours, 34 minutes and 18 seconds. With the help of Dr. Steinback I learned that by using and manipulating spotlights I could achieve a similar lighting effect without the huge render times.
