| | Inspiration
I was inspired to do this piece from a few different things. A girl in my computer art class just did a forest elf sort of image that looked very nice. This inspired me, through some sort of conscious reasoning, to design an organic looking image. I am learning about church arcitechture in my art history class and the stained glass windows look amazing in some of the churches. That is what inspired me to texture the glass in the scene the way I did. I really like the mystery feel that the MYST games have, so I decided to try and make the piece look mysterious through the lighting and the book in the center.

| | Problems and Solutions
I had a problem with not being able to see the glass part of the lamp as well as I wanted in the final renders. I fixed the problem by turning up the Luminosity of the glass texture ( in the surface editor). I also was not happy at first with how the lightbulb looked. The edges were too hard, and it did not really look like a light emmiting object. I fixed the problem by turning on the "glow" setting in the surface editor. This made the object softer looking, and thus more realistic.
