Luke Machado Desk Scene
 Less Work, More Sleep
Inspiration

The inspiration for my desk comes from the television show, Seinfeld.  In this particular episode the character George, decides that he would like to spend his time at work sleeping under his desk.  This scene could be part of an ad to sell a desk that has a bed complete with mattress, pillow, alarm clock and nightlight all standard.  This way you can sleep through your assignment with all the comfort of being in your own bed.  The color of the walls and floor are meant to represent the outdoors. The green ground looks like grass.  I’m trying to sell the desk to someone who would rather sleep in a meadow than work on a TPS report behind a desk.

Problems and Solutions

I defiantly have a problem with making objects to scale.  Often I would open an object in layout and it would be much larger than it should be.  The good thing is the object was proportionate to itself so all I had to do was shrink it.  Lights were also a problem that time along with trial and error seemed to correct.  Figuring out where the item properties were located was a major bonus.  The last thing that gave me trouble was putting the clouds in the window.  I fixed that by putting a transparent wall with cloud texture in front of a blue wall.  Lastly, I was unsure under what options to render the final image so it would look the best.
