| | Inspiration
My scene was inspired by the late Stanley Kubrick’s famous movie, “The Shinning.” In the movie one of the most famous lines was “Redrum,” when Jack Nicholson’s young son prophesized upcoming murder. Because I am such a fanatic of this film I decided to call my scene “Red Room,” because of the red walls surrounding the room. Though the scene is pretty basic and less impressive than much of the work for this assignment, I am very proud of my scene. I feel that because of my illness and the time I had to produce a scene I am happy with the result. I worked hard and figured out the Lightwave 3D program mostly on my own. I took a lot of time and effort to do so, but it was a learning experience that will only help me as the semester goes on.

| | Problems and Solutions
The main problem I had with the assignment was getting sick. I feel that not being in class while the other students were learning about Lightwave 3D and working on their scenes was a real disadvantage. It was difficult trying to figure things out on my own and much more time consuming. I had a particularly tough time with the lighting in my room, it was difficult to find the right angle that would cast the proper shadows. Overall, I still enjoyed creating the desk scene. It was a great learning experience and I look forward to improving my skills in the group project.
