| | Inspiration
The inspiration behind this piece comes from my desk at home, and my artwork. In my artwork I see windows into my imagination, and into the imagination of others. On my desk I usually have many papers and sketches sprawled across the top of my workspace. I took this and came up with an idea, rather than the pictures on the paper representing imagination, creativity, and fantasy, I changed the actual “floating” papers to be the center of attention, and to be the entire fantasy, without having to rely on what was on the papers.

Problems and Solutions
I enjoyed the experience, and I learned many basic skills in Lightwave. I was able to achieve the general feel of the room and the papers that I desired, however I was also felt I had been lacking in many areas. My biggest problem were time restraints. I learned many shortcuts, and many tricks and interesting tactics to create my objects, and to manipulate them. Overall it was a great learning/introductory experience into lightwave.
If there was one thing I would go back and mess with, it would have to be the lighting. I had a lot of difficulty stumbling through the lighting and placement of objects and their shadows. I attempted to grasp the affect that someone was opening a door or approaching the darkened room, this being suggested by the strong light on the left wall, however I felt that I was fairly lacking in my lighting all together. I would still like to practice with it some more, and to see if I could improve the lighting to make the overall piece much better. Aside from the lighting, I would have liked to work on my lamp some more as well. Looking back and realizing this helps me prepare my focus for my next assignment, I will know now ahead of time on what I will need to concentrate on hardest to get better results next time. | |
