Jerit Daley Desk Scene
 untitled
Inspiration

The reason I designed my desk scene the way I did is because it’s hopefully going to be my future room.  I love Bob Marley and his music so that is why I textured the desk the way I did. And then after I textured the desk I kind of decided to make everything match the texture and colors of the desk.  I am into sports and I am into girls which is the reason for the posters.  I hope in the future my room is as colorful as I designed it.  To me a colorful room expresses me as a person, very wide open and outgoing.  I put the keg in there because everyone that goes to Chico State should have keg in their bedroom.  Overall this is what I want my futuristic room to look like.

Problems and Solutions

So far since I have been working on the desk scene I have enjoyed working with lightwave and everything it has to offer.  I never thought I could do the things that I have done with a computer because I am not the greatest guy with computers.  I enjoy this program and hope to learn a lot more with it.  I think that the more I work with lightwave the easier its going to be to use.

There were a few tough things with my room, one was making the keg.  It was hard to make the shape of the keg and was definitely tough to make the spout and the tube that the beer comes out of.  For the tube what I did was use a spline and then used the rail extrude tool to make it like a bent cylinder.  For the actual keg itself I made a disk and then grabbed certain points and stretched them and pushed them in so I could get the exact shape of the keg.  Everything else was fairly simple, I had a little trouble with the desk and getting used to the Boolean tool, but I feel that I am a lot better now.
