| | Inspiration
A long time ago, a time when there were great kings, lived one such King. He was particularly famous for his story telling ability. Masses would assemble from across the lands to hear his amazing stories. Everyone was utterly astonished by his mastery of prose and beautiful imagery. However the weight of the world pulls even on the most high, and this King was losing his talent of story telling. In such a panic he devised a contest, where everyone from around the country side could compete and test their talents for story telling. The winner would receive a special celebration in his honor. The victor of the challenge was a young man, who until recently lived his life as a court jester. The banquet was held and the young man was praised even by the king. Unknowingly that night the young man was locked in a dungeon, and forced to write story upon story until the end of his days. While the King told them as his own. The scene is that of the young man's dungeon, given only a desk to write on, a candle to write by, some bits of paper, a pencil, and glass to quench his thirst.

| | Problems and Solutions
The majority of my problems were with texturing. It took a lot of time to learn how to make the textures look as realistic as my talents allow. Bump maps i found was the answer i was looking for, and using lots of layers to give depth and realism. I am very proud of my work. Lighting was hard, mainly because i couldn't get it right. I used a lot of tutorials to get ideas on lighting. One offered a simply three point lighting system: a main light, fill light, and back light. I started from there and eventually configured the scene around a point light, which was my candle. I used a very small amount light from the other three lights i had set up, this was to illuminate the walls a little better.
