| | | Component | Details | Due Date | | Statement of Intent | One page statement of intent, providing your name, your faux company name, what development platform you will use, and what software you will use for interface development (Java, C++, Delphi, Visual Basic, HTML, etc.). | 7 October 2003 | | User Profile | A short profile describing important characteristics of the users as discussed in the text and in class. | 14 October 2003 | | Interface Goals | A statement of the interface goals that describes the project in terms of the five human factors discussed in the text and in class. This statement must also describe all the interface features you plan to implement. | 28 October 2003 | | Initial Interface Design | The initial interface design is of the screens and includes a description of the interactions. At this point of the process, if you have made any significant changes to the user profile, you need include these changes. Remember that you have two interfaces (visual and voice), thus you need include task-semantic knowledge about the interface so your screens and other commands can be evaluated. Include comments on the operations of the screens. | 4 November 2003 | | Small Prototype | You need to submit a sample prototype of the user interface (not all inclusive). This prototype must be implemented with the software your final product will use and on the platform you intend to have the final product use. This prototype is a sample run to make sure all the delivery problems are worked out well in advance of the final product delivery. | 11 November 2003 | | Final Product | You need turn in the final product so that the evaluator (instructor) can access it and test it. The quality of the interface, the features and functionality, and the actual working of the interface(s) will be evaluated. You also need to include a written users' manual and a project report. | 9 December 2003 | | Presentation | You will present your interface for review by a panel of experts. Dates for presentations are Tuesday 9 December 2003, Thursday 11 December 2003, and Tuesday 16 December 2003.
